Matthew Rozier's Picks: Holy moly! I am probably going to need to perform CPR on my wallet after this week! Hmm .... what to choose, what to choose. I think I will have to pick three books this week, as there is just too much great stuff.
My first pick is
Yotsuba&! v7. Reading about Yotsuba's mis-adventures makes me want to have a daughter just like her, were I to ever have one. Alas, adorable little girls will eventually have to grow up in real life, which makes me thankful that little Yotsuba Koiwai will be frozen in time forever. My second pick is
Itazura Na Kiss v1. This is a fun, old school shoujo series with a very endearing cast of characters. If you are a fan of a good shoujo manga, be sure to pick this one up. My third and final pick is
Ooku: The Inner Chambers v2. The first volume was a dense, thoroughly engrossing read that can be enjoyed by either gender. I was initially skeptical of Ooku myself, given Fumi Yoshinaga's boys' love track record, but all skepticism had faded away once I had finished of volume 1.
Alexander Hoffman's Pick: It's a good week for releases, especially from Yen Press. That being said
20th Century Boys has proven time and again to be fantastic reading, but since that's already been preordered, my pick this week is the funny, beautiful
Pig Bride Vol. 3. As a shojo series, it has everything I want, and the supernatural elements are just icing on the cake of good drama and comedy.
Justin Colussy-Estes' Pick: Yay Yen Press for not one, but two Kiyohiko Azuma releases this month! Not only Yotsuba&! volume 7, but a big fat
Azumanga Daioh collected edition. Or, if cute isn't your forte, then
Detroit Metal City volume 3. Still no? Looking for beautiful boys instead?
Ooku: The Inner Chambers volume 2 should complete you. That's right, there's something for everyone this week!
Dan Polley's Pick: I just can't do it. I can't not pick (sorry for the double negative)
Yotsuba&!. Six volumes might be enough for some people, but not for me. I can't wait to see her untangle herself from more of her shenanigans. But I'd also love to check out
Dogs, an action series set in a "dystopian urban future." Yeah, any time those words are put together, I just have to check it out.
John Thomas's Pick:
There is a lot to choose from this week, but I gotta go with
Detroit Metal City v3. There is nothing like this very mature metal title, and originality goes a long way with me.
Lori Henderson's Pick: Wow. Talk about some tough choices. I have to admit, Yen Press has been impressing me lately with their manhwa.
Pig Bride is a great romantic comedy, and the preview of
Raiders in Yen Plus really has me intrigued, but I have to say I'm looking forward to the first volume of
Time and Again. I've loved the chapters I've read in
Yen Plus so far, and am looking forward to reading the whole volume.

"Short list this week, though its better than last week's non-existent list. I hope everyone enjoyed our re-readable list. This week mostly features the smaller publishers. You can't really call Dark Horse small, but they keep their manga selection to a select few. Kodansha shouldn't be called small, but their releases have been disappointing and slow to say the least. With a company that has as large of a selection of titles as they do, you would expect to see something that..."

"Alex Hoffman: Normally, the Manga Village crew goes over the list of newly released comics and give you our manga picks for the week. Since the releases for this week are a little... sparse, we've decided to talk about the series we love to re-read.One of the things I love about manga trade paperbacks is that you can re-read the series as long as it stays on your shelf...."

Digital manga has a couple of titles for the BL crowd, and Viz releases several titles from their Signature line, including the 2nd volume of Dorohedoro and 20th Century Boys which hits about the half-way mark. Yen Press has some good titles too, including two of their original titles, Gossip Girl and Maximum Ride. The List:..."

"With San Diego Comic Con starting this week, publishers seem more interested in preparing for the con than releasing books, but the new big two of manga publishing still has titles coming out this week. Yen Press' selection is just as varied with manga, manhwa and light novels, including Spice and Wolf vol 2.The List:VIZ MEDIADragon Ball Z Volume 8 GN (VIZB..."

"Eep! It's a short list again! But what's this? Another Kodansha volume in less than a year? The End really is near! Does this mean they might finish Akira before the 2012? No way! Netcomics makes a rare appearance with some print copies of their titles, if you like to read old school. And Vertical finally releases the much anticipated Peepo Choo, from one of the few Americans to get a series published in Japan. What will our reviewers choose? Scroll down to find out!..."

"Viz stands on top this week with their massive wave of shonen and shojo titles. But you can't deny the goodness of so many of them! One Piece is still awesome, even at volume 54, and Shaman King, an alumni from Shonen Jump, is getting soooo close to ending. But don't pass up Yen Press, Viz's biggest rival now, especially on the Top 10 best seller list! Pig Bride and Time and Again are two manhwa you must not miss! So what do we recommend? Scroll do..."

"Tokyopop makes a showing of their titles just as they start their "America's Greatest Otaku" tour at Anime Expo this week. CMX's second and last batch of times comes out right on the edge of the July 1 deadline. An Astroboy Omnibus from Dark Hourse sound intriguing and the price is very attractive. "Good variety of titles this week. CMX has it's swan song as the last four volumes we'll ever see from this publisher come out this week, including one debut title. Del Rey releases some more titles, including the second volume of Moyasimon, and the final omnibus edition of Samurai Deeper Kyo, a title that was originally published by Tokypop, before Kodansha took away their licenses. And speaking of Kodansha, they finally release volume 2 of Akira. 1-2 volumes a..."

"Wow, they're right when they say selection has dropped, but that doesn't mean the quality has! Bandai and Seven Seas has some novels out, and Yen Press has the next volume of Hero Tales, but the Big Dog this week is Viz with some great Sig titles, as well as the final Fushigi Yugi VIZBIG edition. It's kind of appropriate though, that Afterschool Charisma is coming out the week of Father's Day. Daddy!! (Get it to find out what that means.)..."

"The new releases list is getting smaller and smaller as more
companies go under, or worse, have the carpet pulled from under them.
That is what's happened to CMX, the manga imprint from DC. On Tuesday,
DC announced the imprint would stop printing as of July 1, 2010. This
was obviously a surprise to even the CMX crew, as the CMX website had
just been updated with new titles on Monday. But even that is gone now,
and we all mourn. In hap..."

"Small list, BIG releases! Tokyopop only has one title, but it's one that
the mangasphere has been excited about. Viz brings out some of it's
Signature and Shonen Sunday titles, with Biomega being the most
outrageous. Gotta love a talking bear with a hook-hand, and a machine
gun. Yen Press has a long list of good stuff, including a new Black
Butler, the debut of the new CLAMP series Kobato, and another debut of My Girlfriend is a
Geek. It..."

creator. And Battle Vixens, aka Ikkitosen, finally finishes its run.

"Viz rains it's titles on bookstores this week with more One Piece with a sprinkling of shonen, shojo and kids titles. CMX debuts a new title, just in time for baseball season. And Seven Seas finishes their original manga based on Avalon: The Web of Magic series.CMX..."
