Toto: The Wonderful Adventure Volume 3 (Yuko Osada)

Del Rey Manga

Toto: The Wonderful Adventure Volume

Genre: Fantasy, Adventure

Rating: Teen (13+)

Price: $10.99

Kakashi and his new friends are struggling in the locomotive town at the beginning of the third volume of Toto. Noil and Millica are helping out Kakashi, Dorothy and Toto as they try to escape from the town and the army, which is after the bracelet that harbors Toto.

Before the group can skip town, however, they must face off against the mighty tanks from the imperial army. But it appears as though Noil had some forethought when he was escaping from the army base. And as he and the groups set out from town, he gets a bit teary eyed from the feelings he has.

As the train chugs on, the group must pass through the North Witch Forest. Unfortunately, a witch joins the fray. And she's got a job to do.

But just as the group is getting to know her, a man and some thugs show up and provide some added firepower at the party on the train. And Kakashi and Toto are not planning on going down lightly.

After the showdown, the group heads to the North Witch Headquarters. There they find that there are more groups than just the army after Toto and the bracelet. The big question, though, is whether this group is friendly or foes? And just how are they connected to Kakashi's dead father?

The pacing is pretty well planned for this volume, which also focuses a bit on some of the other characters that accompany Kakashi. And although there is still a lot to learn about Kakashi and his background, there is even more to learn about the others. So it was nice to have a bit of the volume focus on them.

Still, the biggest mystery, that of Toto and the bracelet, is developed quite a bit, which really helps to keep the pacing of the series.

Summing Up:

The book starts to focus more on the mysterious Toto and the bracelet, which helps develop the overall plot.
