Princess Sakura has suffered a devastating loss. But the rest of the group, those left behind, are the ones who must find their way now that the princess is out of the picture.
But she couldn't have suffered this defeat without the interference of a traitor. And the rest of the group need to learn just how to deal with the traitor.
And with the sequence of events unfolding, it seems as though the future has changed. And everyone can't help but wonder whether they're just dreaming, or whether they will be able to cope with reality.
Fai has yet another shocking secret to divulge. And the ramifications of that will unravel some of the mysteries surrounding the fate of Princess Sakura.
As the gang heads off in search of the princess, they realize that they need to come together, both emotionally and physically, in order to ensure that they get to her.
The second half of the volume deals with the back story of a certain character who is critical to the success of the mission in the first half of the volume. And the details that are revealed within this back story cast a much brighter light on this character and why this character chose to act the way it did.
But the character is faced with a tough choice in its back story. How will this choice affect the character's future and how will it affect Princess Sakura?

Summing Up:
This volume really picked up the story a lot and helped flesh out some back story, too.
